Founder’s Story
After having taught my daughter Felicity to recognize words at 12 months, I went on to found Brillkids in 2007 and develop Little Reader, which has been used successfully by countless parents to teach their babies.
In 2020, my son Kyler came along. In the process of teaching him, I ended up completely redeveloping Little Reader from ground up, based on a slightly different teaching philosophy, and taking advantage of the today’s latest technology.
The results have been astounding. He started showing that he understood many spoken words by 12 months, and started recognizing words a month later. By 2 years, he was reading long sentences, and shortly thereafter, complete stories. (See all videos here.)
More incredibly, his interest in using the new Little Reader to learn has been nothing like I’ve ever seen with other products – since first using it at 8 months, he still eagerly uses it even now, at 3+ years! I don’t see him stopping anytime soon.
More important than the results of learning, is the deep bonding that developed between us which, along with all the accompanying laughter and joy, is truly invaluable and beyond words.
Now, I’d like to share with the world my experience, as well as the tools I created. It is my hope that many of you will also have as amazing an experience as I have had with Kyler.
